Richard serves as the personal trusted advisor to several successful and ultra-high-net-worth entrepreneurs in Monaco and internationally. His expertise spans all aspects of their businesses, strategic negotiations, and global investments, reflecting his deep understanding of the complex dynamics of the business world.
In addition to his role at Marcon & Associés, Richard is an Adjunct Professor at Sciences Po Paris University, where he teaches courses on “Thinking Like a Lawyer” and “Arbitration and Amicable Dispute Resolution in an International Context”, a full course he created in 2023. Sciences Po is ranked 2nd in QS World University Rankings® 2021 in Politics & International Studies, underscoring the prestige of his affiliation.
Richard’s commitment to legal excellence extends beyond academia. He serves as a Board Member of the AMCO (Association Monégasque des Compliance Officers), leading the legal & accounting professionals’ committee. Prior to founding Marcon & Associés, Richard held key positions, including General Counsel of a global IT company and board memberships in sectors such as IT, Biotech, and Oil & Gas. He also served as the General Secretary of both the Monaco Chamber of Legal Advisors and the Monaco Chamber of Renewable Energies & Ecology, demonstrating his multifaceted contributions to various industries.
Furthermore, Richard was recently appointed as a Board Member of a Swiss luxury group specializing in premium exclusive cigars and premium caviar, among other products. This appointment reflects his more than 30-year passion for premium cigars and underscores his dedication to the luxury sector.

Cristiana Betti
Senior Associate
Italian-born, Cristiana was admitted to the Milan Bar in 2011 and to the Paris Bar in 2019. She also holds an LLM in European and International Business Law from Panthéon Sorbonne University, coupled with a Master’s in Family Office Management in Italy. This unique blend of education has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of financial instruments and legal structures crucial for effective asset management.
After initially working in Milanese law firms, Cristiana transitioned to the corporate sector in 2013. She joined a leading company in the cereals sector as a legal consultant. Shortly after her arrival, the company was acquired by a prominent French group specialized in Agri-food, leading Cristiana to relocate to France. There, she became the group’s primary contact for managing the Italian market.
Since 2013, Cristiana has resided and worked in France, building a portfolio of prestigious clients across various sectors, with a particular focus on luxury brands. Notable experiences include her work for the global luxury group Kering, where she oversaw corporate governance issues for the group’s Northern European entities, handled competition matters, negotiated loan agreements, and managed intra-group treasury transactions. She also contributed her expertise to Longchamp, assisting in contract reviews for GDPR compliance, and to Lanvin, where she drafted licenses, purchasing agreements, co-branding agreements, commercial leases, and other contracts while managing corporate governance matters.
Cristiana’s expertise extends beyond the luxury sector, with significant experience in IT and pharmaceuticals. She has supported business units in drafting and reviewing international distribution, sales, services, procurement contracts, and commercial leases with digital suppliers.
In the realm of corporate law, Cristiana spent over a year at Fidag, a large-scale accounting firm, as a Corporate Law Lawyer. In this role, she focused on drafting minutes for boards of directors and general meetings in both French and English, preparing documentation for accounts approval, and drafting contracts related to share sales, capital increases, board changes, and company formations.
Since October 2023, Cristiana has served as International Legal Counsel at Marcon & Associés law firm. In this role, she is responsible for drafting and negotiating business transfers in accordance with Monegasque law, overseeing purchase agreements, sales, and guarantees linked to transactions, and managing all corporate governance issues, including taxation and residency matters.
Cristiana’s passion for the arts, particularly painting, resonates deeply with the ethos of Marcon & Associés. Founded by Richard Marcon, the firm has a rich history of involvement in the art world, including organizing exhibitions and prominently featuring artworks within its premises.

Sarah Dalton

Sarah assists Richard Marcon specifically on some of his international files relating to the law applicable in the United Kingdom.
Sarah qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 2012 in London. Sarah’s legal career started at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP’s London office where she worked in private equity acting for sponsors/general partners throughout fund formation and structuring, fund raising, closings and during the investment period. She also attended to secondary transfers of investors’ interests. Subsequently, Sarah worked at Dorsey & Whitney (Europe) LLP where she practiced M&A and specialized in intellectual property, data protection, technology and information law. Sarah conducted work for clients seeking to acquire/dispose of companies as well as advising technology start-ups and joint venture vehicles on licensing and collaboration arrangements, commercial contracts and dispute resolution. In 2015, Sarah joined Walkers Global (Jersey office) working in corporate investment funds, banking and trusts. Matters included advising clients on fund formation, regulatory issues and exemptions, establishing and acquiring/disposing of Jersey property unit trusts, entity migration and financing/restructuring transactions. in 2017, Sarah left private practice and became General Counsel of Circuitus Capital Infrastructure Limited, assisting the team with all legal matters, fund structuring and establishment and liaising with potential investors and service providers assisting the fund / associated entities. Sarah graduated with a first-class law degree ((LLB) honours) from Kingston University, London and was awarded a distinction in the Legal Practice Course from The University of Law, London.
